Is a Used Compact Car Right for You?

Compact cars and hatchbacks are practical, fuel-efficient and easy to park, and a folding rear seat adds useful cargo space for their size. They make great first cars and commuter vehicles. Because they are light, winter tires make a noticeable difference on snowy Heber Valley roads, so check the tire condition and tread depth when you shop.

Before You Buy Any Used Vehicle

Ask for the VIN and review a vehicle history report and the title status.
Take a test drive that includes highway speeds and a hill, and watch for warning lights.
Check the tires, brakes and fluids, and look underneath for leaks and rust.
Consider a professional pre-purchase inspection.

Our used car pre-purchase checklist covers each step in detail.
